Hello everybody and welcome to blogmas day three! Today I am going to be sharing with you my essentials for the perfect winter night in. I don’t know about you but when it’s cold outside and everything is just a big bundle of stress it’s really good to just take some time to relax, especially if you have Christmas parties, work nights out or other events to go to. I always find that this time of year absolutely zooms past so any chance I have to take a step back I do, because if not it’ll be new year before we know it and we’ll all be exhausted. Anyway what I’m trying to say is that everybody deserves to be a little lazy every now and again and in this blog post you’ll find the essentials for the perfect lazy night (or day) in, so enjoy.
My first essential is probably the most essential, and that is cozy pyjamas. If you are having a cosy night in there is honestly no point sitting there in jeans when you could be wearing a onesie. My favourite place to get festive pyjamas is primark and when paired with fluffy socks and a really cozy dressing gown, so definitely essential number one.
My second essential runs along the same theme and that is blankets, lots and lots and lots of blankets. I am one of those people who sit on the couch wrapped up in a blanket or sitting in a nest of them, so naturally I can’t have a blog post about a cosy winter night in and not mention blankets, these are definitely an essential, especially if they are fluffy!
Candles are one of those things that really make a room feel cosy, so I just had to include them as my third essential. Scented candles are a really good way to fill your house with Christmassy smells and I love them, especially if they are cinnamon scented cause those ones are the best! I love Yankee Candles’ winter scents this time of year, but there are so many candle brands with really nice scents.
Hot chocolate is something I only tend to drink this time of year but I honestly think it is essential for a cosy night. It is the perfect way to warm up after a chilly day and there are so many different varieties. I never have plain hot chocolate, I always flavour mine and in a blog post that you will see later on this month you will find my top five hot chocolate recipies. (See what I did there with that cheeky little bit of self promo!) but hot chocolate is just the best, especially if it has whipped cream and marshmallows!!
My final essential is again one of the most important, which is why I left it till last and that is having something good on the telly! It doesn’t matter if it’s a film, a Christmas film or even just a good television series, you just can’t have a night in without one! Having something good to watch is the perfect way to end the day, and this time of year I always spend my evenings watching the television with my family, usually forcing them to watch elf or nativity for the fifty millionth time. And if you are looking for some recommendations and haven’t read my ‘Top Christmas Films’ blog post from yesterday you can find that here (eeek I did it again!!).
So those were my essentials for the perfect winter night in, I really hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you have any essentials that I haven’t mentioned. Anyway thank you very much for reading and I will see you all tomorrow, bye x
